In the unprecedented times it is hopeful that everyone will be able to work in a safe environment that will prevent contracting of the COVID-19 virus. Unfortunately, certain work settings, such as meat processing, assembly line and many retail establishments are not “set up” to offer the type of social distancing necessary for effective protection.

If an employee contracts the COVID-19 virus and his or her work environment contributed to that unfortunate event, then the employer and its Worker Compensation insurance provider could be required to shoulder financial and medical responsibility.

We hope that everyone will stay safe and will be able to practice social distancing so as to protect themselves, their coworkers and their family.
